The Day Tokyo Dome Turned Crimson Red: How the Rakuten Super Night Game Etched Its Fervor into History

To realize a world where everyone can experience the joy of sports in their own way, and where sports continue to enrich our lives. The first Rakuten Super Night Game in four years centered around the theme "A Better Future Together Through Sports," and hosted a diverse range of content designed to spark imagination of a brighter future. Attendees felt the excitement created through sports in many different forms.

This was the day Eagles fans had all been waiting for. The Rakuten Super Night Game was a special day when fans got the chance to watch the Eagles in an official first-team game at Tokyo Dome, and it was also preceded by a full schedule of events designed to entertain even those who don’t usually watch sports. This special event, proudly sponsored by the Rakuten Group, showcased the vision of a richer future empowered by sports.

Digital displays in the main concourse showed Rakuten athletes and staff welcoming visitors with messages for the future.

A wide variety of interactive booths were set up, featuring a prize raffle with premium prizes, commemorative giveaways for attendees, and exclusive Rakuten Eagles-themed menu items. The pedal-powered energy challenge stood out for offering a glimpse of the future of carbon neutrality in a clear, entertaining way. The “Okaimono Panda,” Rakuten’s popular mascot, also made an appearance dressed in Rakuten’s signature crimson red.

The artist group OVER ALLs brought the theme “A Better Future Together Through Sports” to life with a live painting session. Named “FULL COUNT,” the piece featured Masahiro Tanaka and Ei Asamura.

The ceremonial pitch for the game-opening ceremony was delivered by javelin athlete Sae Takemoto, who has partnered with Rakuten Sports for global management. Takemoto has been playing baseball since she was little, and effortlessly delivered a masterful strike. What makes this even more special is that Takemoto and Eagles catcher Yuma Yasuda are not only from the same city of Kobe in Hyogo Prefecture, but are also the same age and have known each other since elementary school. The two formed a once-in-a-lifetime battery for the special event.

The Rakuten Super Night Game gave participants the chance to think about “A Better Future Together Through Sports.” People came together through baseball to accept each others’ diversity and worked to create a sustainable environment. The moments shared on this day will surely connect to a better future.
