Shun Murakami, a professional surfer, is always on the lookout for good waves and freely travels around the world. I encountered Surfing when I was in elementary school, and since then I have achieved results in numerous competitions. However, suddenly in 2023, he expressed his intention to refrain from participating in the contest. The reason is due to the transition to free surfing, which had been desired for a long time, and the determination to pursue the pure joy of surfing for a lifetime. “I’m not particularly particular about things, but I don’t like clutter, so I often choose black or white for the things around me. I’m the type who wants to keep my belongings to a minimum on a regular basis.”

By the way, the reason why skincare items like moisturizing cream and cleanser are not included in my favorite products is because “I’ve reached the age where I should care about it, but it’s just too bothersome…”, revealing a bit of my mischievous side. As expected, after being strongly advised by those around him, it seems he started to keep sunscreen in his car. One can discern the image of Murakami, a professional surfer and nature lover, from his personal belongings.

“As you take on more thrilling waves in free surfing, the risk naturally increases. But the moment you pass through a high-difficulty tube, you can experience a pleasure so incomparable to anything else. Yet, the desire is insatiable, so there is no end called “satisfaction” in performance. To begin with, I’m not fond of crowded places and prefer spending time alone without having to be considerate of others. Therefore, I feel that my current situation suits my personality and environment better. From now on, I want to show my unique challenges to people all over the world, not just focusing on the merits of the competition but also making good use of video distribution,”
