—What do you think contributed to achieving back-to-back league championships?

“In my opinion, the defense centered around players like Yamakawa and Matheus, who throw their bodies in the line of fire during crucial moments to protect the goal and show resilience by not conceding points even during trying times, creates a good flow. This is then complemented by the hard work of players like Ohgihara, Ideguchi, and Yamaguchi, who firmly support the defenders and connect the ball to the frontline players they trust. I believe the varied attacks centered around Osako, Muto, and Miyashiro, their never-give-up attitude to aim for the goal until the last second, and their powerful plays are truly exciting. Of course, there are many players whose names cannot be fully listed here, but it’s truly impressive to see all the players preparing and fighting confidently for victory, and the fact that they are achieving results.”

——What is the essence of Vissel Kobe’s strength, having once been a part of Vissel Kobe and now observing it objectively from the outside?

“I truly feel that Vissel Kobe is very strong at the moment.There is versatility in being able to aim for points in both set plays and counterattacks, and in being able to create goals from side attacks and breakthroughs in the center.In defense, players who don’t shy away from hard work run with all their might for the sake of victory, throwing their bodies to protect the goal.Within that, I believe a significant strength lies in the veteran players leading the team, and the young players, influenced by their actions, growing as they stimulate each other.The J.LEAGUE is full of excellent teams and the competition is fierce every year. In such a scenario, where any team could reasonably win, I think it’s truly remarkable to have achieved back-to-back championships. However, I hope you will not be satisfied with this result and continue to take on new challenges.”

——What words would you like to say to Vissel Kobe’s players?

“Congratulations on winning the league for the second time in a row, and also for winning the Emperor’s Cup. Truly, well done.I believe that achieving a double championship is truly an incredible feat.I believe there was a lot of pressure during a tough season, but I think it’s the result of the players, staff, and all the fans coming together to put their all into the game at hand and strive for consecutive championships.I receive a lot of inspiration and power from their unity and strength.I believe that all teams will strive to defeat Vissel Kobe in the next season, but I’m looking forward to seeing a more evolved and stronger Vissel Kobe, bouncing back from these challenges.
